Changing the Way You Play the Game
In my last blog, I talked about how I reached a turning point in my emotional and physical recovery where it was time to stop sitting around healing and step up and be accountable for taking the actions necessary to actually get strong enough and able to go on the 50-state ride with Alice. If I continue as I am right now, I’d be lucky to still be riding a motorcycle, let alone going on the ride with Alice. I had to decide for myself whether to stay in my comfy place or get

I Don’ Wanna but I’m Gunna
I have been out of the game for a minute. Trying to write, but the place I have been in isn’t exactly a place I should write from gauged only by the comfortability of others in my life. Honesty is a hard pill to swallow. Lord knows I know this. I have paid relentlessly for being honest my entire life, but it’s how I am wired. I came into this world wired this way and I’m sure as fuck going out that way. My mother always said there was no point in punishing me because I was a

On the flip side many only pull in what went wrong, the dark side of the year, the things that made them sad. No matter how you look at it, one thing is true.

Security
What does security mean to you? Today at age 68, security looks very different to me. I can also see the difference in what security meant to my generation and the following generations. Everyone has their own idea of what security means to them. It may be job, money, savings, family, home, etc. For myself and in general for my generation, I think, security was job stability, allowing for secure living now and savings/pension for retirement with a spouse and family to enj

On Repeat?
Those of you following along at home have probably noticed a bit of a theme in my blogs. For those of you who haven’t, feel free to look back and give them a read. Many of my posts revolve around the healing journey—the path we each take to get from where we were to where we want, need, or hope to be. Was this planned? No. The reality is that it’s simply what resonates with me right now. One thing I’ve learned is that when something resonates with you, it’s worth taking a mom
