Yesterday was the culmination of the process I have been going through since last Wednesday, in particular. For those of you following me, you know that I’ve been slowly losing pieces of the man I love to Alzheimer’s and grieving the death of my son Tony seven months ago at age 49 due to liver failure from untreated alcoholism (his choice) and more recently the death of an aunt who was just over a year older than me, more like a sister than an aunt. If you don’t know about all this, take some time to read some of my older postings, you’ll find out a lot more about me that all ties in to my current life’s journey through hell, while simultaneously searching my soul to know what I want to pursue for the next phase of my life’s journey. The thing about walking through hell is to own it. Walk through it like you own the place and if necessary, kick some ass along the way. Just because you’re walking through hell doesn’t mean you can’t own that fucker, take it down and walk to the other side. Your choice.
I have so much more to tell you about the course of events over the last 5 days. It starts and it ends with “Smoking with Tony.”
However, today was an extremely long day and I couldn’t get around to writing this post until after 10:00 pm. Alice and I are meeting at 8:00 in the morning to ride up north to get her fishing license from her uncle’s house. She and I are going fishing this weekend and need to make sure we’re both legal. Perfect excuse for a ride. I told her I would go with if I could plan the route and lead the ride up there. I instantly had some ideas of some really cool back roads vs. bombing up the freeway. Much more fun. So, earlier another member of our team and I were chatting about the fact that my post was due today. I haven’t been ready to write since getting home, but I’m feeling ready to rejoin the world so would do my best to get something written tonight.
She told me “okie, dokie, but take care of yourself first.” So, I need to take care of myself and get some sleep to be ready to ride safely in the morning.
So, you will have to wait for my next post to hear more about Smoking With Tony.
Meanwhile, you can always go back and read my and the rest of the team’s posts. All of us are sharing some of ourselves to help you understand who we are and why we are a part of the mission of Clearview Works and “Chick and Alice.”
