First ride of the season

There’s nothing like the first time out on my bike in the spring. Especially this year. I haven’t ridden much the last two summers due to my back and hip injuries. But I’ve been working very hard in the last four months at my recovery from surgery, massive nerve pain, and narcotic addition and was so excited to be riding again. I put on about 35-40 miles. That was enough for the first time. I was a little tentative at first but by the time I got back home, I was really into it and man, it is a better high than any drug I’ve ever ingested! Can’t wait for more good weather to get out there again.
Since I didn’t even tell anybody that I was going riding, there was nobody around to take a picture, so I just included a picture from the last ride I did before my surgery so you could picture me riding.
By the way, Alice read me the riot act for not telling anybody that I was going riding. If something happened and I became unreachable, nobody would know where to start looking for me. (In her words, “I need to know where to pick up your body.”). As much as that slams my independent soul (again, in her words, “I’m grown, do what I want”), again, she right. Man, I hate it when that happens.
