Busy Monday

Bra shopping? Scary, but with my recent weight loss, I needed a bra that didn’t spin around my body whenever I made a move and was comfortable (absolutely no more underwire!). Got measured, got some that fit nicely, and $10 off each of them. Not such a horrible experience after all. Afterwards, while at Alice’s house we got to talking about the sad state of the bushes in front of her house. She wasn’t sure about how to go about it, so I said I would supervise. Of course, that’s meant I would not only tell her what to do, but had to get in there myself and make sure it got done right. I went home briefly to change into my “working outside” clothes as I was dressed for bra shopping, not pruning bushes. Only one minor mishap, stabbing my wrist with a branch and making it bleed. A common occurrence for me since my hands and wrists are extremely thin skinned and break open easily. Another “joy” of an aging body. Anyway, next stop was a follow-up visit to the chiropractor for both of us to get adjusted. I got home in time to fix my husband lunch and sign on for my virtual therapy session. A little more adjustment, this time for my mind. One more thing, daily stretching and pelvic floor exercises. Now it’s time to relax and reflect on my day.

Why the hell am I telling you all this detail about today, in particular? Every single one of these events are a part of what I’ve been working on and will continue to work on as I continue my life’s journey and get from the depleted physical, emotional and mental state I was in six months ago into the physically, mentally, and emotionally fit state necessary for me to sustain Chick & Alice’s 50-state motorcycle ride at age 70: a) comfortable, well fitted clothing; b) ability to undertake physical tasks as necessary; c) helping a valued friend who’s always helping me, with something I knew a little about; d) taking care of my body structure in order to sustain physical fitness as I age; e) taking care of my mental and emotional health in order to maximize my potential in my life; f) time for me to re-charge so I can continue to fulfill what I need to do for myself and the others in my life that I care about.
