Alice’s First Ride

Today, Alice passed her permit test the first time, of course. Then we got to ride. Since I’m teaching her, I insisted on the first time being an area with little to no traffic so she could concentrate on driving the bike without having to pay attention to traffic. She’s ridden before, but not a lot of highway or city riding. She did great! After several circles in the neighborhood, I could tell she was ready to rock, so we took the back roads to another small town and back. It was so much fun to be a part of that with her. I love to push corners and typically push them 15-20 miles over posted. But, this time I rode at posted speeds so she could do the corners within her comfort zone. I couldn’t do that for every corner, though. On the way home, I felt the need for speed, so pushed a few corners, then slowed back down into my teaching mode. Sharing my passion for riding with her is the ultimate high! By the way, that’s my bike behind hers.
