Into the Unknown

Indecision, uncertainty, unknown, what ifs. All of these can be scary concepts in life. Not knowing or being able to see or anticipate what’s to come, how to get where you want to go, the unknown obstacles that come up on the various levels of life that can impact you emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically. Having to navigate uncharted waters, picking the fork in the road that leads to where you feel you need to go, choosing how to get from point A to point B, well you get the point I’m sure.
It can all become overwhelming. The inability to understand the whys and how's of everything. Much of this causes us all to sit, think, and then make a choice on how to make things work. I have faced a lot of this through out my life. Yes I have made some choices that led me down a path that wasn’t what I expected or even at times what I truly wanted, but one could look at it as I needed to go down that path to learn what ever lesson life was trying to teach me. The ups and downs, heart ache and sorrow, but also the joy, friendships, and fun that came with some of it.
The road ahead to the Freedom Ride and beyond is much the same. There are still many unknowns and uncertainties ahead. Planning, the path, how to get where everyone where they need to be at the right time. Changes in the situations that are causing pivots and uncertainty. Trying to anticipate moves in whatever direction we are being led. There is one thing that is a for sure though. The ride is in fact happening. Despite set backs, changes, things falling through, the path a head is still clear, the ride is going to happen.
What about what comes the after the ride? What do things look like once they get back? Who will everyone be after the experiences they have had? How will things have changed for not only them but everyone else around them and involved? Where to from here? Well those plans are also in the works.
Getting things sorted, prioritized, and listed out to work on while the ride happens in preparations for the path after. Getting ideas put down on paper. Proposals and needed documents drafted and written. Building more of a foundation of understanding as to who we are on a deeper level and what we are called to do, not just Clearview Works, but everyone involved. It’s all working itself out, sometime slower than we would like, but happening nonetheless. Will everything be set in stone, absolutely not, but there will be a plan and it will drive the next chapter of life for everyone.
It’s an exciting experience to see as things get completed and boxes checked off the list of accomplishments while still not fully knowing what is to come. Is there fear, yes. Does doubt sometimes creep in on the low days, also yes. But the reality of it is, if you don’t feed into the fear or doubt, they can’t do much more than slow you down for a bit. I have read and heard many places that if given two choices in life, one that scares you and one that feels comfortable, take the option that scares you. You will face a fear and it will expand who you are even if it doesn’t always work out the way you want it to. You will likely still learn something, and that’s what matters.
Yes, there are still many things up in the air and many unknowns to tackle, but the drive, determination, and desire to continue moving forward, despite the obstacles, is still there and still strong. So take a deep breath, sit for a moment, then get your feet moving. Push yourself into the unknown, you may find out it turns out better than you could have ever imagined.
