Cause and Effect

Cause and effect. It’s a saying that gets through out here and there, often times in the world of science. Every action has an effect on things around it, some times it's just a direct one to one. Other times those effects are the cause of other effects, it spreads out and ripples through everything in some manner and level. Some times people don’t even know that they are impacting something else through their actions, and others they are well aware and in some cases do it deliberately.

In a past blog I wrote about the ripple effect that life can have. And in many ways it’s similar to what I just stated above, but I’m also going a different route with it. Life is filled with choices on how to act in a given situation or what to do at a certain time given what’s going on around you. Sometimes these choices are easy, natural, like the choice between Pepsi and Coke. Nothing crazy there, everyone has their preference and in the grand scheme of this it really has no effect on what’s going on around you. Other times the choice is a bit harder and it makes you think long and hard about what to do and where to go as well as the resulting effects have a deeper and more lasting affect.

With the future of Clearview Works getting planned out and the bricks being laid, cause and effect every much come into play. We are going to be working with individuals who have been directly impacted by cause and effect. Both the perpetrators and the victims alike.

The perpetrator's choices in how they acted, what they did, how they handled themselves very much impacts the life they led and the road they went down resulting in what made them make the choices to put them in the situation they are in. Some made the choices out of malice, spite, or a longing for power. Others made the choices out of need, longing for something, or just because they didn’t know better from their history. There are so many people out there that are perpetrators that are just perpetuating the cycle. They were raised a certain way, that is what they know and in turn they often chose a path down life that makes them repeat many of the same patterns as those in their past. Being abusers, thieves, gangs, needing money, etc. even they are directly impacted by the effects of someone else’s choices in live.

The victims are much in the same boat. They often become victims because of their abuser's choices. The abuse and trauma is a direct effect from the cause of their abuses. Even so their own actions have effects. Leaving an abuser, staying with an abuser, what programs they choose, what they tell others. IT's all the result of the cause and effect in their live.

Ok, back to my point. With the goals and plans coming forth for Clearview Works of giving people, both perpetrators and victims, a place to come and heal, it brings up thoughts of cause and effects. What programs and curriculum is chosen to teach will directly effect they way people learn and move down their paths. The choices of location, buildings, housing, systems, food. It all plays a roll in causing and effecting everyone involved. So long hard looks need to be taken and viewed from every angle to see what may or may not be chosen, how it will impact the rest of the system, and planning, the steps that need to be put into place, well hopefully you get my point. Everything has an impact on everything else, and even if you can’t fully see it, even the small choices that are made impact things around them. It adds a depth to thinking and life when you can start to see this and connect dots.

Everything has a choice, that choice has an effect, they way it affects others also give them a choice, which in turn causes other effects, so on and so forth. So next time you are sitting there pondering what you should do, take it one step further and think “if I do this, what could it possibly affect?” You would be surprised at what you come up with and how it starts to make the bigger picture of life a bit more clear as you begin figuring out how to anticipate the next step and where things might lead.

Thanks again for reading through this and again, take a look at the socials and website. Give us a shout out and you too may be surprised at the Cause and effects of your actions.
